2026-27 Full Day Pre-Kindergarten Program

Lawrence Public Schools is excited to expand full-day pre-kindergarten programming for the 2026-27 school year! Please see details below and on the flyer, including how to apply to the district-wide lottery:

  • Eligibility: Student must be 4 years old by September 1, 2026; can reside anywhere in Lawrence
  • Locations: Lawrence Early Childhood Center, 303 Haverhill St. (also known as St. Mary’s); and the Rollins Early Childhood Center (451 Howard St.)
  • Hours: Monday-Friday 7:50am-2:50pm

Limited seats are available, and participants will be chosen by lottery. Apply at the following link by April 6, 2026: https://bit.ly/4iSBQE3

This program is a two-year commitment, with the expectation that students will complete kindergarten at the assigned location.

Please note this lottery is only for the limited number of seats in the new full-day preK program. Regular annual enrollment for half day preK (morning or afternoon) is currently ongoing and kindergarten registration will open next month, with space for all Lawrence residents with age-eligible children.

Boys All-Conference Players Selected

Congratulations to Boys Varsity Basketball as they continue in the playoffs after a win over Billerica. Three Lancer Boys were selected for All-Conference Teams in 2026 - Senior Aidan Lopez to 1st team and Senior Jonathan Perez and Sophomore Jeremiah Lopez to 2nd team. Well done!

Hennessey Students Show Appreciation

Students at the Hennessey School showed their appreciation to Superintendent Carrero with personal thank you notes for the backpacks they received. Mr. Carrero shared the surprise after he read to the Kindergarteners as part of the annual Read for the Record activity.

Girls 4 x 200 Relay Team Breaks School Record

Shout out to the record breaking Lancer Girls 4 x 200m relay team - Sarah Feliciano, Danieliz Mercedes, Kayra Gutierrez, and Amelia Diodati! They broke the existing school record during the MIAA meet at New balance with a time of 1:51.86.

Getting Hands On Experience in Guatemala 2026

Getting hands on with the culture of Guatemala, the teachers visiting El Patojismo, a secondary school and community center, prepared rellenitos, a traditional Guatemalan dessert made of plantain filled with black beans and chocolate.
After touring Guatemala City and Antigua cultural sites, the group participated in school activities in several communities, taking part in the school day and even walking the students routes home to get a feel for life in Guatemala.
And still much more to learn as they continue their week long immersion.

Learning Continues During February Break Week 2026

Students from UNIDOS, Upper School Academy, Wetherbee and Guilmette Middle School enjoyed engaging activities during this February break week. Topics from coding and robotics to analyzing history with the Bad Bunny Superbowl performance and lots of English grammar kept these students busy.
