Congratulations to all the 8th graders around the District who celebrated promotion ceremonies this week. These are the last class of 8th graders from the James F. Leonard Middle School ready for their promotion ceremony tonight. Good luck to all in High School!

Dancers from five Lawrence Public Schools presented a high energy Spring Showcase at the Performing Arts Center to an enthusiastic audience. Many dance styles were highlighted by these talented dancers. Great job everyone!

Bruce School 6th Graders learned to write their stories to create an Anthology entitled "Who Will Tell Our Stories". This project was led by teacher Mary Guerrero in collaboration with the Mass Cultural Council and our poet-in-residence Wangeci Gitau.

Such joy at graduating, we are proud of all our LHS Seniors!

The students at the Breen School took some very special field trips in May to visit the Addison Gallery on the Phillips Academy Campus in Andover. Two classes went each day to see the galleries, learn about art, stories and puppetry. Thank you to the staff at Addison Gallery for providing this wonderful experience and our own Patrick Guerrero for bringing art into our students lives.

Wetherbee would like to send a big thank you to the 47 Santander employees and General Manager who took the day to teach our students from Kindergarten to 5th grade about financial literacy and savings during the recent Junior Achievement Day.  

Families at the Lawrence Family Academy enjoyed music, face painting and games while sharing their cultures to celebrate many different countries.

LHS Theater was at it again this weekend, cleaning up at the annual state High School Musical Theater Awards (a.k.a. the TAMY’s) for their fall performance of In the Heights. The Lancers took home an amazing 12 honors, including “bests” for duet, costumes, performance in a featured role, actor, actress and overall production – what a haul!

Congratulations again to LHS Theater, and can’t wait to see what they’ve got planned for next year…

Lawrence High School Mock Trial students brought home 1st and 2nd place as well as runner up in the Lawrence Bar Association Speech Contest with their compelling 5 minute speeches this May. Mock Trial also brought home a 2-1 record in the state tournament while arguing a complex liability case. Way to go, Lancers—your critical thinking, advocacy, and civic engagement continue to make us proud! 

Congratulations to Argenis Luciano, Class of 2025 LHS Upper School valedictorian and winner of this year's Edward F. Cregg Medal, which recognizes his success as a student-athlete who has personified the values of great sportsmanship. Argenis is pictured here with State Representatives Estela Reyes and Frank Moran.
