Shout out to our Lancer Basketball teams for excellent play over the break. Lancer Girls Team brought home the winning trophy after defeating Whittier 45-41 in the finals of the 1st Amesbury Christmas Tournament. Way to go Lancers!
The Boys Team made the finals of the Commonwealth Classic but weren't able to dominate North Andover who took home a 68-65 tournament win. Good hustle!

HLC Basketball 7th Season
The HLC Tigers Basketball team embarks on their 7th season in the GBBL league. Coach Brown says that four Weeks into their season and they have been working hard to perfect their system and come together as a group. The reigning league champs, they have a long road ahead of them but are a group of hard workers who feel up to the task. Thanks to all the people at HLC who support this endeavor and make the season possible.

Working During the Break
All hands on deck to refinish the floor in the SLE and Spark Academy Gym. Lots of projects take place while students are on Winter Break, there is now a shiny new play surface for all the gym classes and afterschool basketball. Great work!

Lancers Over Raiders
Intense competition between basketball rivals Lawrence Lancers and Central Catholic Raiders. Senior Igor Gonzalez got in a couple of big dunks and the Lancer squad came out with a win at home final score 61 - 47. A great season is just getting started.

Pathways Showcase
The Lawrence High School Pathways Showcase event provided 9th and 10th grade students and their families the opportunity to explore a wide range of possible career paths. More than 25 employers, educators and LHS Alumni from around the area shared information and advice for the students to consider career pathways ranging from law enforcement to education to robotics and engineering.

LFISS Fall 2023 Graduation
The Lawrence Public Schools Family Institute for Student Success completed the Fall 2023 session at the Arlington Educational Complex and 92 parents received certificates for completing the program. Congratulations to all, the skills you learned will benefit your family for years to come.

Buddies Having Fun Together
Students at the Frost Middle School had a great time partnering with their Unified Champion School Buddies and playing games together in an afterschool activity this week. Games were interactive, included counting and a range of skills to include everyone. Looks like lots of fun!

Back Track Vocals Perform for SLE
South Lawrence East Elementary students got a very special treat recently. The a cappella group from Brooklyn called Back Track Vocals performed LIVE for every student in the Elementary School. They learned about a cappella music, helped sing along to new versions of their favorite songs and learned how to do a little beat boxing. Lots of fun.

West Side Story LIVE This Weekend
Final touches to the West Side Story set were finished at last night's Dress Rehearsal. The cast and crew are ready to entertain you. Come over to the Performing Arts Center at Lawrence High School Campus for an evening of terrific musical theater this Friday and Saturday night at 6pm. Tickets are $5 and well worth it to see these talented performers.

West Side Story a Musical Success
LHS Theater wowed their audiences all through the weekend with an emotional performance of the classic West Side Story. Cast members sang and danced the night away in a great show as we watched the tension between the Sharks vs Jets and the love story between Tony and Maria.

Play to Learn at Rollins
Rollins School parents participated in one of a series of five family workshops to raise awareness of the power of play in the learning process. Each family received materials to encourage intentional play at home to strengthen foundational literacy and math skills.
