Building a strong strategic plan involves bringing in voices from a broad group of stakeholders. While folks across the Lawrence community will be engaged in a variety of ways, the district has assembled two core groups to guide this work:
Advisory Board
The Advisory Board includes stakeholder groups that will be most impacted by this work. Together they represent a variety of perspectives and interests and equitably represent the Lawrence student body and the various areas of the school district. This team will meet roughly once a month from April through June to help craft the vision and inform the strategic plan.
The Advisory Board includes representatives of:
- District Leadership
- School Leadership
- Teachers
- Students
- Parents
- Community members and leaders
- Other key partners
Their core roles on the Advisory Board include:
- Provide input and guidance on vision, priorities, and initiatives for the future
- Elevate the voices of their stakeholder group
- Serve as a liaison and provides opportunities to share content with others
- Provide thought leadership on the implementation of the plan

Senior Leadership Team
The district leaders on the Advisory Board will also provide guidance and direction on key deliverables.
The Senior Leadership Team includes representatives of:
- Superintendent & Deputy Superintendent
- Finance
- Operations
- Human Capital
- Curriculum & Instruction
- Student Support Services
- Student, Family & Community Engagement
- Communications
Their core roles on the Senior Leadership Team include:
- Provide high-level vision and direction on work products
- Provide project oversight and direction on a day-to-day basis
- Ensure the project aligns with the organization's goals, objectives, and overall strategy
- Make decisions and recommendations based on long-term vision for the school district
